A FAMILY-RUN pub with rooms has received a prestigious award for its dedication to top-tier customer service.
The Howard Arms, Brampton, has been recognised with a Thwaites Perfect Principles Award 2023.
The award has been earned due to the pub’s ‘great hospitality service’, measured from everything such as the quality of the beer, the inviting ambiance, and, the efficiency and warmth of the customer service provided within a Thwaites pub.
Ruth Seggie and her husband Andrew, who took over the convivial hotspot back in December 2018, said they were ‘thrilled to bits’ to win the award but said the commendation must go towards the staff.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to bits, but it’s down to the staff and the team we have.
“They work really hard to make sure everyone gets looked after, it’s down to them more than us.
“All the hard work is really worth it and it shows, especially in this day and climate,” Ruth said.
Last year, the pub was the national winner of the Thwaites Hospitality Awards 2022 in which they were pitted against more than 200 pubs.
“Trying to get staff in hospitality is really difficult but we’re fortunate to have a really good team.
“We look after them and they look after us as well as the customers,” Ruth added.
